The Operational Training Supervisor is a member of the Park City Ski & Snowboard School supervisory team that reports directly to a specific Location Manager while working closely with the Training Manager to facilitate quality lesson products for our guests. This position includes a hybrid of responsibilities that fluctuate depending on projected business needs. The Operational Training Supervisor will work primarily as a daily operational supervisor with a heavy focus on quality assurance of our lessons and continued education of our instructors, supporting the mission and vision of the Park City Ski and Snowboard School. This is a salaried position- Oct. 22 nd - April 19 th .
The Operational Training Supervisor’s responsibilities include:
Operational Responsibilities: Perform operational duties including:
Model the company’s mission, vision and values
Manage staffing as business dictates
Regularly assess performance of staff including, observation, coaching and delivering performance feedback
Play an integral role in our culture of Health and Safety
Ensure staff adhere to company and departmental policies & procedures
Administer appropriate record keeping and reporting systems to include and not limited to: payroll and a working knowledge of RPOS
Communicate with all SSBS locations as well as other departments to create an environment of support and trust that will benefit staff and guests
Perform other duties as assigned
Proactively provides superior guest service at all times (internal and external)
Leadership and Training: Work with SSBS Leadership team to ensure quality and consistency of training throughout the school. This includes but is not limited to:
Creating and delivering training that connects instructor teaching skills to an exceptional guest experience
Building and delivering training that equips instructors with needed operational knowledge
Identifying areas for new training
Being instrumental in implementing new hire training
Be responsive and proactive to guests needs and be involved in guest recovery
High School diploma and/or two years relevant proven leadership experience in related field, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
Must meet current PSIA/AASI Level 3 or equivalent certification standards
Communicate effectively in written form and verbally
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Windows based applications and internet based software
Able to withstand lengthy exposure to cold and inclement weather for entirety of each work day
Able to sit at computer for extended periods of time
Physical strength and ability to respond appropriately to emergency and other unplanned situations, and the ability to ski/ride extended periods of time, which may include up to a full work day.
