The assistant executive housekeeping manager is responsible for assisting with the day to day leadership of the housekeeping department and its employees. This position is responsible for handling many of the administrative and operational duties of maintaining the Housekeeping Department. Customer service is a key responsibility, from guest arrival to departure, in accordance with Lodge at Vail standards. This position is to plan, organize and monitor staff activities to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards set by the hotel, which requires continuous visual inspection of guest rooms and public areas.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Responsible to assist in hiring, staffing, training, disciplining, performance management and goal setting for housekeeping department.
Responsible to run housekeeping daily operation including creating boards for the room attendants, supervising staff on the floor and with inspections of rooms, linen closets, public space, and security of linen areas as well as complete the required number of written inspection forms on the housekeepers. They will plan for VIP inspections and prioritize the daily operation as business needs change.
As needed fulfill all job responsibilities expected of Room Attendants, Housepersons and Public Area Attendants and supervisors including all general cleaning functions across the resort.
Assist with scheduling and timecard accuracy and edits according to scheduled hours.
Responsible to manage supplies including ordering, and inventory of all housekeeping items including budgeting and forecasting for operating and labor expenses.
Computer experience, able to use LMS and HotSos for all required housekeeping duties including reporting and tracking cleanliness issues, damage to the property to, work orders, look up room statuses, run housekeeping reports, check arrivals and departures, monitor changes in room inventory throughout the day.
Responsible to attend stand up meeting for HSKP and managers and communicate with front office on a consistent basis and be able to check for early services, special service requests, check VIP report daily, inspect all VIP rooms and continually check assigned section and report any changes or discrepancies immediately.
Make the opening tour of assigned area, checking for condition of floors, walls, vending areas, linen rooms, status of supplies and your staff’s needs. Report anything unusual and assign items to correct situations.
Assign tasks to houseman, rooms attendants and supervisors as well as coordinate deep cleans and track billing accuracy.
Responsible to conduct brand standard audits, safety trainings, department specific training, and to improve on market metrix goals.
Maintain a great working relationship with all the departments of the hotel.
High school diploma - required
College degree - preferred
2+ years’ experience in Supervisory/Management/Assistant Housekeeper role - required
Valid US Driver's License with acceptable driving record - required
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) - required
Advanced ability in English - required
Ability to communicate in Spanish - preferred
Good communication, organization, and time management skills – required
Lift weight from 25-50 lbs - required
