Job Summary:

One Job, double the benefits! This position is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Bell/Valet team and ensuring all The Hythe, Luxury Collection, Brand Standards as well as all VR and Marriott service standards are met. This will include the responsibility of overseeing the safe and efficient relocation of guest’s automobiles to designated parking locations, as well as maintaining vehicle cleanliness The Bell Captain is also responsible for ensuring the timely delivery and retrieval of guest’s luggage by all team members. This position will assign and instruct Bell/Valet team members in details of work, observe/assist in performance and encourage adherence to standard operating procedures. The Bell Captain is also responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, onboarding, scheduling, inventory and visually monitoring performance of all employees. This position requires shift flexibility as needed for operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests in a warm, friendly, prompt and professional manner.

  • Complete Vehicles Inspections, Parks and retrieves guest vehicles in a timely and safe manner. Including completing valet tag and additional tagging information of all guest vehicles.

  • Responsible for guest key management

  • Responsible for daily checklists (i.e. knowledge of current functions and elite recognition).

  • Oversee the timely delivery and retrieval of luggage, amenities, faxes, letters, newspapers, boxes and various items to the guest rooms.

  • Maintaining a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, and ethics in dealing both with guests, co-workers and subordinates.

  • Ensures that the Bell desk and adjacent public areas are kept in pristine condition, including trash removal.

  • Handles confidential information, including guest records, with a high degree of integrity.

  • Anticipated guests’ needs respond promptly and acknowledge all guests.

  • Oversee and effectively deal with all guest issues as they occur and resolve the issues to a satisfactory outcome.

  • Monitor guest feedback through Medallia GSS, and assist with responding to guest surveys with guidance from Guest Services Manager

  • Driving GXP culture within the Drive team.

  • Ensuring good safety practices of guests throughout the hotel, and proper emergency and safety procedures are followed.

  • Managing the property parking logistics, and providing team with appropriate steps of preparation for timely and accurate placement and retrieval of guests vehicles including property announcement of parking closures based off occupancy

  • Calendar management and understanding of Property PMS system lightspeed

  • Charge guest parking as needed, and responsible for management of the tip process and reporting for the Drive team

  • Flexible schedule required. Must be available to work holidays, weekends and nights.

  • Attend / schedule departmental meetings, pre-cons, and other meetings as required. Ensure Post con notes are provided in timely manner.

  • Ensure recycling efforts and environmental initiatives are met.

  • Performs any additional tasks or projects as required.

Job Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience

  • Must be 21 years of age. -required

  • Have a valid US driver’s license. -required

  • Computer Operations, including word, excel, outlook – required

  • Knowledge of Lightspeed PMS, GXP, or other Marriott systems – preferred.

  • Must have a satisfactory MVR check. -required

  • Ability to drive a manual as well as an automatic. -preferred

  • Must have guest service experience. -required

  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions. -required

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time. -required

  • Must be able to bend, crouch, crawl, climb and kneel. -required

  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays and evenings when needed. -required

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English. -required

  • Ability to communicate in Spanish or in other languages. -preferred

The expected pay range is $23.00 - $24.26. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
